Made to order
Our made-to-order garment service enables the personnel of your organization to benefit from high-quality manufacture which provides a unique and distinctive appearance and sets your organisation apart. Additionally, particular design features of your choice can usually be incorporated.
In the early days, as Leonard Hudson’s reputation grew, our customers began increasingly to ask us for something that wasn’t available off the shelf, such as a special colour in an existing style, as well as made-to-order styles. Many schools and organizations wanted not only an article of quality but something that would distinguish them, and at an affordable price. Consequently Leonard Hudson, with its many years of experience in producing specially made garments for schools, clubs and businesses, can offer the option of obtaining specially made garments, using your organisation's individual colours, sometimes at little or even no extra cost.
With the combination of effective design skills, modern durable fabrics and established manufacturing techniques, schools can have a unique image, produced by Leonard Hudson, at a price that is still affordable to users.

In the case of items like knitwear, material can be knitted to incorporate a special neckband, wrist and/or welt colour or stripe combination. Incorporating piping into a sweatshirt creates an additional design feature on a popular garment. Scarves, which are available in various styles, can be knitted or fabricated in your own colour and stripe combination; similarly caps. Blazers can be not only decorated with your distinctive badge, but also feature braided effects, or piping. Kilted skirts can be made in your choice of tartan and style, likewise pinafores; the list goes on.

Agreement to Stock – Hold/Call Service
Specially made garments can be supplied on an as-required basis, or otherwise by an Agreement To Stock where in consultation with you, sometimes based on order history, the likely requirements are assessed in order to produce an rolling programme to maintain stocks to cover your short- or longer-term needs. Our Hold-Call or Deferred service is also a popular option whereby we produce your season’s requirements, based on your order, and hold these pending your subsequent call-off(s). An additional bonus is that we don’t normally charge for the goods until they are despatched. This means that you can have the peace of mind of knowing that your specially made goods are readily available for whenever you need them, and is particularly useful to achieve minimum quantities or when production times are of the essence. This makes selling uniform from your school easier than ever – with quick delivery of each batch and in the quantity of your choice. Taking advantage of this service also releases funds tied up in stock and frees-up valuable storage space.
For those schools wishing to divest themselves of the more detailed administration, our Parents on-line service comes in useful. This means that parents can purchase direct, while you still maintain overall control over the Uniform policy.
